Preschool name coloring page activities
Use a preschool name coloring page for playful letter recognition, coloring patterns, and a personalized classroom welcome.
Begin with name recognition
Show the printed name and ask whether the child recognizes it. Point to the first letter, say it together, and look for that letter elsewhere in the room. Keep the activity short and playful.
Color, notice, and talk
Invite the child to color one letter at a time. Talk about repeated letters and compare a short name with a longer one. A coloring page can support a conversation about print; it is not a substitute for an age-appropriate handwriting program.
Try the optional tracing outlines
Switch on dashed letter outlines for a tracing variation. These are decorative outline letters, rather than a formal handwriting model. A child can trace around them with a finger before trying a crayon.
Make a classroom welcome table
Open Classroom sets, paste one first name per line, and export a PDF with one page per name. Print a sample first to check the lettering and paper settings. Use the same theme for the group or prepare separate sets for different tables.
